Running for: Insurance Commissioner · California

California State Senator

In their own words

I'm running for Insurance Commissioner to reform our broken insurance system, lower costs, and protect consumers. I'm not taking any insurance company money because my loyalty is to you. In the State Senate, I've fought for consumers and working Californians.

In LAist's voter guide

“Allen was elected in 2014 and has a strong record on environmental issues, authoring the law that largely restricts plastic straws and single-use plastics in the state. Since his district was hit by the Palisades Fire in January 2025, he has authored legislation to give the insurance department more enforcement power and to establish a loan program for wildfire resilience.” (CalMatters via LAist)
